Ocotillos~SkyWatch Friday 010810

Ocotillos grow naturally here in the desert southwest and I found these in our nearby hills. I went for a walk on New Year's Day and saw these. Hummingbirds like to alight in them and when it gets warm, they will be covered with green leaves and their red blossoms will open, but for now, they stand stark against the morning sky. SkyWatch Friday for January 8, 2010.

And I hope that the hummingbird didn't leave the Ocotillos alone ^_^ Happy weekend!

Ocotillos - interesting. You will have to post them again when they leaf out! Nice blue skywatch. And a nice birdie alternative to the annoying music on other sites!

Ocotillos are such crazy plants. I really like them. Learned about them when I lived in Phoenix for a couple years. And those look great against the sky.
