I got up close and personal with this cholla cactus when I saw a cactus wren leave its nest in it. Believe me, no creature is going to mess with these spikes! The little blossoms hadn't opened yet and I would like to keep an eye on them and see them when they open up! Macro Monday for May 17, 2010.

Nice shot. I collected Cholla spines when we lived in Tucson. They are decorating my living room. :)

Our chollas are gorgeous when they bloom....bright fuschia pink blooms...just stunning.
That's the only good thing about 'em! lol!
